please help me stay in college and support my family!! :“((
hey, it’s ella! i’m a queer latinx (disabled) immigrant and i’m in my first year of college! but due to some really sudden medical bills for my spinal treatment + my dad being out of work right now i’m scared i won’t be able to support my education this semester without your help :((
i have until friday 1/18 to pay $773.06 or else my classes are dropped, and even then it’d be late and i’d incur more consequences. i’m trying to gather enough money to help cover my spring semester of college (a little over $2,000 but tbh literally anything counts, we’re having trouble just paying those medical bills) and i don’t have a very long time to do it.
i have a 3.96 raw GPA and over 240 volunteer hours and i’m Real smart and i should’ve gotten two (2!!) full ride scholarships in fall 2018 but due to external factors i was cheated out of them and i’m still scrambling to find 3rd party scholarships :// please please consider commissioning me (my rates are down by 30%!!), or donating!
my paypal is duda.olv@gmail.com, my ko-fi ($3) is here!!
my business email for commissions is rakukajasart@gmail.com! my commission information is here and here!
i don’t need to meet this full amount. i just need help as much help as i can get. and if you can’t donate that’s totally okay, but please please reblog this post! i want to go to college to make life easier for my family and to be a scientist! thank you so much for your time!!
Don’t sleep on the fact that Miles Morales is a biracial African American AND Hispanic Boy
Don’t sleep on the fact that Miles has two supportive Black Males in his life before Peter B. Parker shows up, that are there for him and wants to help him find what he wants to be in life and believes this boy can do great things
Don’t sleep on the fact that he’s also got an Amazing supportive Hispanic Mother who knows when her son needs a breather from whatever stress he’s going through and doesn’t push
Don’t sleep on the fact that Miles has two supportive parents who only want what’s best for him and is willing to give him the space when he needs it and will be there when he’s ready
(It may not seem like a big deal but most kids can’t even get THAT)
Oh yeah and his Dad’s a Police Officer and Moms a Nurse(I just LOVED that)
Don’t sleep on the fact that Miles Morales is fluent in Spanish too and is a loved member in his little community of Brooklyn that’s blooming with all races
Don’t sleep on the fact that Miles didn’t win some “lottery” to get into that private school, he ACED the entrance exams AND purposely tried to flunk tests by picking nothing but wrong answers because he KNEW the right answers so he could go back to the school with his community
Don’t sleep on the fact that this boy was able to do what he didn’t even know was possible when the time was right because he just knew
Don’t sleep on the fact that what makes Spider-Man so Amazing and important was that his mask let everyone think that it was possible that it could be someone like them under that mask
Don’t sleep on the fact that everyone can do Amazing things like Spider-Man like our boy Miles even you
Nikki Fraser from Tk’emlups te Secwepemc is marching this Friday to elevate the Indigenous voice as a whole.
“I’m marching to uplift those voices that need to be heard,” Fraser says.
Fraser is organizing a local Indigenous Peoples March on Friday, Jan. 18, to stand in solidarity with the one being held in Washington, D.C.
“I saw a post initially on social media and I saw that this (march) was in Washington,” Fraser says. “I did some research and I saw there were some opportunities to host a solidarity march.”
“It’s really to give a platform for the Indigenous voice,” Fraser says.
With the help of her dad, Dave Manuel, a wellness counsellor with Tk’emlups te Secwepemc, and others, Fraser began planning the event for Kamloops.
“We will be starting off with a water ceremony at the beach, some prayers, some opening remarks, speakers,” Fraser says. “We’ll just be peacefully marching and drumming, and then ending at city hall.”
Everyone is welcome, Fraser says.
“Allies are for sure welcome, it’s open to everybody,” she says. “It’s not just for Indigenous people from Kamloops, it’s for Indigenous people all around the world.”
Fraser says this is the first Canadian solidarity march behind held.
“We just want to show that there are Indigenous people in Canada that will be standing in solidarity,” Fraser says. “This is something we are really proud of.”
The march will start at noon on Friday, Jan. 18 at Riverside Park Beach. The walk will start in front of the Sandman Centre and finish at City Hall. Participants are reminded to dress warmly.

This is your local Scandinavian telling y’all that Norse mythology has a goddess called Lofn who is a goddess of love and bringing together those ‘for whom marriage was forbidden or banned’, and I’m not saying she said gay rights, but she totally said gay rights.
